DENSO AUTOMOTIVE Deutschland GmbH is delighted to have been accepted as a new member of the network of the Research Association for Mechatronic Integrated Devices (3-D MID) since April 2020.
DENSO is a leading supplier of modern automotive technology, systems and components for automobile manufacturers.
DENSO AUTOMOTIVE Germany was founded in Munich in 1984 and today has its main locations in Eching, an industrial area in the north of Munich, and in Wegberg near Aachen. DENSO AUTOMOTIVE Germany also has a number of sales offices, located in Wolfsburg, Leinfelden-Echterdingen (near Stuttgart), Mörfelden-Walldorf (near Frankfurt a.M.) and Cologne. The Eching site has test facilities such as climate chambers, acoustic chambers for components and vehicles, component test benches and a state-of-the-art wind tunnel. In 2005, the Aachen Engineering Centre (AEC) was opened in Wegberg, which is responsible for the development of the powertrain, in particular diesel fuel injection and exhaust aftertreatment. Since 2010, the AEC has been working on the development of control units and components for electric and hybrid vehicles. The test facilities include engine test benches, dynamometers for emission tests, test benches for common rail pumps and injectors, and the necessary workshops.
To live up to our slogan “Bringing hope for the future for our planet, society and all people”, DENSO is concentrating on the areas of electrification, advanced safety and automated and networked driving. We are also working to create new mobility value and establish factory automation and agriculture as our non-automotive business areas. In this way, we contribute to improving industrial and social productivity.
Electrification and automated driving are identified as key technologies for realizing a mobile society. The technologies required for this, such as control units, semiconductor components and sensor technology, are developed by DENSO in an interdisciplinary and cross-organizational manner, thus providing significant support for future innovation in automobiles.
The development and production of Powertrain Control ECU, Body Control ECU as well as the development and production of semiconductor sensors for vehicle interiors, microelectronic components and integrated circuits are particularly noteworthy business activities.
The development of competitive products is driven by close cooperation with universities, research institutions and start-ups in our continuously expanding global network.
We are happy to complement this network with our membership in 3-D MID.
