Presentation 1: Additive Manufacturing for the Integration of Sensors into Mechatronic Systems (PrESens)

Speaker: Jewgeni Roudenko, Technische Hochschule Nürnberg

The PrESens research project investigated the feasibility of directly functionalizing 2D and 3D surfaces using contactless printing methods. Aerosol jet printing for low-viscosity inks and piezo jet printing for high-viscosity pastes were employed to apply sensors onto various substrates. The goal was to fabricate sensors directly at the measurement points of polymer or metal objects, achieving or surpassing the sensitivity, long-term stability, and reliability of commercially available foil strain gauges. This presentation will highlight the key findings of the project with selected examples.

Details of the second presentation will follow shortly.
