The MID Congress 2023 in Amberg was an extremely successful event that attracted numerous participants from different countries. A total of 85 individuals from ten different countries took part in this significant gathering, highlighting the reach and relevance of the 15th Mechatronic Integrated Discourse Congress 2023.
During the congress, a total of 25 presentations were delivered in nine sessions. These presentations covered exciting and highly topical subjects that captivated both experts and other individuals interested in MID. The various sessions facilitated a wide knowledge transfer and sparked lively discussions. An impressive addition to the MID Congress 2023 were the eleven posters showcasing ongoing projects in industrial community research by AiF. These posters provided visual insights into innovative research projects and encouraged exchanges of ideas. Additionally, seven companies and research institutions had the opportunity to showcase their innovations at booth stands. This platform allowed participants to stay informed about current developments and new technologies. The diversity of the presented innovations underscored the dynamics and potential of research in the field of mechatronic integrated devices. After an intense first day of presentations and discussions, participants enjoyed a warm summer evening. They were served specialties from the Oberpfalz region, providing a pleasant opportunity to exchange experiences and new ideas in a relaxed atmosphere. The program was rounded off with a Technical Tour, which took place this year at the visitor center “THE IMPULSE” of SIEMENS AG in Amberg. Real and digital worlds came to life in this setting. A bridge connected the visitor center to the production hall, giving participants an insight into the state-of-the-art, digitized production of control devices.
This year’s MID Sponsorship Award was presented to Dr.-Ing. Li Wang for her dissertation titled “Evaluation of Usability Laser-assisted Methods for Selective Metallization for Improvement Passive Intermodulation in High-Frequency Applications.” Her findings were highly regarded in the telecommunications industry. The MID Best Paper Award 2023 was awarded to Laura Fütterer (M.Sc.) from the Laser Zentrum Hannover for her research on the “3D-MosquitOPrint” project – Mosquito Dispensed Waveguides in Cavities on 3D-MIDs.
The Congress Center (ACC) in Amberg proved to be an ideal venue for the MID Congress 2023, as it had all the necessary facilities and a pleasant atmosphere that contributed to a smooth operation and productive collaboration.
Overall, the MID Congress 2023 in Amberg can be considered a great success. The high number of participants, the diversity of the presented content, and the pleasant atmosphere contributed to an inspiring event. The congress provided a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and ideas, while strengthening international collaboration in the field of industrial community research.
